VoIP

VoIP is an optional service on Asterisk. It is available from many different suppliers. VoIP uses the Internet for voice transmission and can use existing ADSL services. The upload speed needs to be at least 256K to obtain good voice quality. Coupled with the Digium G729 codec, up to 10 simultaneous conversations could be made.

A good quality QoS router such as a Draytek 2910 is needed so voice traffic is given priority.
